MANGANESE EXPLORATION

unlocking ghana's mineral potential, one layer at a time

In the heart of Ghana Manganese Company Ltd (GMC), exploration is the foundation of our long-term success. We are committed to identifying and unlocking new manganese deposits within our 170-square-kilometere concession in Nsuta, Western Region of Ghana- a site with over a century of mining

history and untapped geological promise.

Using modern exploration techniques, advanced mapping, and geophysical surveys, our team continuously works to expand resource potential and ensure the sustainability of our operations for decades to come.

our exploration approach

GEOLOGICAL MAPPING & SAMPLING

We analyze surface and sub-surface structures to identify new manganese-rich zones.

cORE DRILLING PROGRAMS

Strategic drilling allows us to assess ore quality, grade, and depth across undeveloped areas of the lease.

dATA-DRIVEN RESOURCE MODELING

We use advanced software to build accurate 3D models of deposit, supporting future mine planning.

SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES

All exploration activities are conducted in compliance with environmental standards and community engagement protocols.

RECONNAISSANCE AND PROSPECTING LICENSES

Manganese mineralization at GMC’s reconnaissance (Wakawaka and Seripe) and prospecting (Yakau) licenses continues to be very promising.

In view of this, GMC continues to invest in greenfield exploration to expand the Manganese mining opportunities in Ghana.

  • The Yakau prospecting license covers 149km2 with manganese and gold mining potential. This greenfield project is strategically positioned and only 40km from Takoradi Port;
  • The Wakawaka and Seripe reconnaissance licenses are providing manganese ore development opportunities in the North of Ghana.

exploring today to power the future

why exploration matters

With less than 3% of our lease area mined, GMC’s exploration efforts are key to securing Ghana’s position in the global manganese supply chain. Every discovery strengthens our ability to meet future demand in steel production, clean energy, and electric vehicle technologies.

Exploration is more than finding ore- it's about discovering opportunity, sustaining progress, and securing a stronger future for Ghana and the world.
