Manganese mineralization within the Nsuta and Yakau Properties continues to be very promising. In view of this, GMC has continued to invest in exploration to expand the footprint of the mineralized area:

  • The Yakau prospecting license covers 149km2 with manganese and gold mining potential. The greenfield project is strategically positioned and only 35km from Takoradi Port ;
  • The Wakawaka and Seripe reconnaissance licenses are providing manganese ore development opportunities in the North of Ghana.

It is estimated that a total of 2M tonnes @ 26.0% Mn for pit B and 2 Mt @ 25.7% Mn is expected to be realized after a planned drilling campaign in Nsuta. Also, approximately 36Mt @ 23.2% Mn resources will be added to the mineral resource base of GMC upon completion of the exploration work for this year.

Sterilization drilling is also planned for designated areas for waste dump extension and to test for the occurrence of detrital ore for potential extraction.
