Ghana Manganese Company Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Wisdom Adjei Mensah as our Chief Sustainability Officer, reinforcing its commitment to responsible mining, environmental stewardship, and community development.
Mr. Mensah is an accomplished management professional with over two decades of progressive leadership experience in the mining industry. His career spans human resources, social performance, sustainability, and external relations.
He began his mining career in 1997 with Resolute Amasie and Bibiani Mines, before joining GMC in 2005 as Human Resource Superintendent. He became the HR/ Administrative Manager in 2008- a role he excelled in for more than a decade.
In March 2021, he transitioned into the role of Social Responsibility and External Relations Manager, where he played a key role in strengthening stakeholder engagement and advancing the company’s social performance mandate.
Mr. Adjei Mensah now assumes the position of Chief Sustainability Officer. In this role, he will lead strategic initiatives in sustainability, workplace health and safety, environmental stewardship, community development, and mining exploration.
Mr. Adjei Mensah holds a first degree in the sciences and two master’s degrees – one in Business Administration and another in Organisation Development. He is also a chartered Member of the Institute of Chartered Management Consultants, Canada.
