GMC announces the retirement of its Chief Sustainability Officer.
Mr. Benjamin Atsu Quashie, an Executive Mining Engineer with a wealth of global experience, has been a key executive leader at GMC since joining the company as Chief Operations Officer (COO) in May 2018.
He assumed the crucial, expanded role of Chief Sustainability Officer in September 2020. In this capacity, Mr. Quashie has been responsible for consolidating the company’s focus on the vital pillars of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) mandate: Geology, Health and Safety, Environment, Social Responsibility/External Relations, and Communication.
During his tenure at GMC, Mr. Quashie played a pivotal role in driving the company’s sustainability initiatives and has made significant strides in enhancing operational sustainability, ensuring the well-being of employees, and fostering positive relationships with local communities and other stakeholders.
His dedication to sustainability has been instrumental in positioning GMC as a responsible player in the mining industry.
