Job Description

The IT Systems Administrator in the Asset Management Section is to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of the company’s IT infrastructure, specifically related to the asset management systems. This role supports the section in tracking, maintaining, and optimizing the use of assets such as machinery, equipment, and other resources through the effective use of information technology Main Responsibility Areas
  • IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain the company’s IT systems related to asset management, including servers, networks, databases, and software applications.
 
  • Support Asset Management Systems: Ensure the asset tracking software and related systems are functioning optimally, updating them as needed.
 
  • Data Security and Backup: Implement data security measures to protect sensitive asset management information. Ensure regular data backups and disaster recovery plans.
 
  • Technical Support: Provide IT support to the asset management team, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
 
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system performance, ensure timely updates and patches, and conduct routine maintenance to prevent downtime.
 
  • System Optimization and Upgrades: Proactively suggest system upgrades, integrations, and improvements that can help the asset management team work more efficiently.
 
  • Documentation and Reporting: Keep records of system performance, updates, and incidents. Generate reports on system health and usage.

Qualification & Experience

Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or similar.
  • Advanced software knowledge and experience in engineering maintenance functions.
  • CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
  • ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification would be advantageous
Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration, preferably in asset-heavy industries like mining or manufacturing.
    • Hands-on experience with asset management software (such as SAP, IBM Maximo, Oracle, or similar) is a plus.
