Job Description

The purpose of a Services & Infrastructure Planner in the Asset Management Section is to plan, design, and oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of the company’s infrastructure services, such as power, water supply, and other essential services. The role ensures that the infrastructure supporting the manganese mining operations is reliable, efficient, and meets the operational needs of the company, while aligning with regulatory standards and sustainability practices. Main Responsibility Areas
  • Infrastructure Planning and Design: Plan and design infrastructure systems (power, water, telecommunications) that support the company’s mining operations, ensuring they meet current and future demands.
 
  • Project Management: Oversee infrastructure projects from planning through to execution, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
 
  • Coordination with Asset Management: Collaborate with the asset management and maintenance teams to align infrastructure services with the overall asset lifecycle and operational goals.
 
  • Capacity Planning and Optimization: Conduct assessments of infrastructure capacities and recommend upgrades or new developments to meet the growing demands of the mining operations.
 
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all infrastructure projects and services comply with local and international regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
 
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to infrastructure services, including equipment failures and disruptions, and develop mitigation strategies.
 
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Integrate sustainable practices into infrastructure planning to minimize environmental impact and optimize resource usage.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage budgets for infrastructure projects and service maintenance, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource efficiency.
  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Liaise with external contractors and vendors for infrastructure development, maintenance, and upgrades, ensuring quality control.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Specialization in infrastructure planning is a plus.
  • Mincom Certificate of Competency.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is an advantage.
  • Certifications in sustainability practices or energy management are beneficial.
  • Experience:
    • 5-7 years of experience in infrastructure planning or project management within industrial sectors such as mining, oil and gas, or manufacturing.
    • Hands-on experience with large-scale infrastructure projects, including power distribution, water supply, and maintenance systems.
