The Board of Directors of Ghana Manganese Company Ltd. GMC has reappointed Mr. Jurgen Eijgendaal as the Managing Director of the company.
He takes over from Mr. Zhang Zhensheng who was appointed briefly in 2018.
Jurgen Eijgendaal is a business executive with over 25 years of international managerial mining experience. He was appointed CEO of Ghana Manganese Company Limited (GMC) on 01 March 2020, a position he also held during the period 2002 and early 2018. During this period, he was a member of the Group Executive Committee of Consolidated Minerals Limited (CML). Prior to becoming the GMC CEO in 2002, he was the Resident Director of GMC a position he obtained in 1998.
Jurgen has been the President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines for two (2) consecutive terms between 2006 and 2010 and has served on various boards of directors and business committees. Prior to coming to Ghana, he was the CEO of an underground chrome ore mine in South Africa. He is the founder/owner of JDS and Associates Limited (JDS), a consultancy/advisory company for international investors in Ghana.
Jurgen holds a MA degree from the University of Leiden, the Netherlands, and currently resides with his family in Ghana.
