MANGANESE LADIES LEAD BREAST CANCER AWARENESS AND SCREENING EXERCISE IN GMC CATCHMENT COMMUNITIES

The Manganese Ladies Association of Ghana Manganese Company Ltd (GMC) has successfully organized a comprehensive breast cancer awareness and screening exercise for women across GMC’s catchment communities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to health and community well-being.

The initiative provided free education, screening, and counselling to hundreds of women, aimed at promoting early detection and encouraging regular health checks.

The month-long exercise culminated in a vibrant celebration at the forecourt of the GMC Administration block, where staff and health advocates gathered to commemorate the success of the initiative.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the President of the Manganese Ladies Association, Mrs. Ruth Menz, commended all participants and emphasized the importance of women taking charge of their health. The association was also applauded for its effort, reaffirming the company’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote women’s health, empowerment, and sustainable community development.

Through this initiative, the Manganese Ladies continue to exemplify leadership, compassion, and service- embodying GMC’s core values of care, collaboration, and responsibility toward the communities it serves.
