GMCL REACH OUT TO APPIATSE COMMUNITY

Ghana Manganese Company Limited (GMCL) has donated items worth GH₵80,000.00 to support the upkeep of the Appiate Community.

the items ranged from, medical supplies, relief Items,and construction materials such as bags of rice, blankets, and water tanks.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the presentation, Mr Wisdom Adjei Mensah, Social Responsibility and External Relations Manager of GMC explained “we are here to commiserate with the entire Bogoso and Appiatse Communities for the unfortunate incident that injures and displaced a lot people”.

He indicated “we are offering our aid in the form of a donation to assist the government, institutions, and individuals to ensure stability in the lives of the affected people”

Mr Adjei Mensah gave the assurance that GMC would continue to support the victims who were adversely affected.

According to the Social Responsibility and External Relations Manager, “some victims have been displaced, others were injuries, properties were destroyed, and precious lives were lost. I believe that as a mining company effort would be put in place to ensure we carry out our work safely so that communities would not be negatively impacted”.

The present Huni-Valley Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), DR. Isaac Dasmani, lauded GMC for the aid and thanked them for putting smiles in the faces of the residents of Appiate.
